Pharmacy Technicians work alongside Pharmacists in a hospital, retail, or other clinical pharmacy setting to help dispense prescriptions and support patient care. In order to become a certified Pharmacy Technician, students must have a high school diploma or equivalent and complete a certificate or associate degree program. Many states require Pharmacy Technicians to pass a national certification exam in order to obtain certification.

Pharmacy Technician (PhT) Certification Program 

Program Objective: To provide the knowledge, skills, and training that will prepare students for professional certification and entry into the healthcare system as a competent and compassionate entry-level pharmacy technician. Additionally, our Externship program allows the students with the opportunity to apply the cumulative didactic knowledge learned in the classroom to hone their clinical skills, critical thinking skills, interpersonal skills, and professionalism, and to network with colleagues in the field.

Students will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program and are eligible for a fee waiver on the first attempt on the Pharmacy Technician Certification (ExCPT) Exam

To qualify for graduation from this program the students must demonstrate competency in each of the patient care skills and successfully complete the both externships. Graduates in this program will be qualified to find entry-level positions in doctor’s offices, hospitals, nursing and convalescent health care facilities.
